For the dock.
For the long term.
Save Our Dock is an independent resident and community campaign seeking to preserve the open-water character of Royal Victoria Dock.
What we stand for
We support sensible regeneration of the Royal Docks. We support more homes in appropriate locations. We oppose converting a substantial part of Royal Victoria Dock’s open water into permanent residential space.
We want that open-water character protected for existing residents, recreation, ecology, events and future generations. Our aim is to persuade Royal Docks Waterways, the GLA, Newham Council, elected representatives and our neighbours that the Floating Residential element should not proceed.
Credibility beats outrage
We read the original material, cite our sources and distinguish the official proposal from our position. We recognise that the project team proposes public-access and environmental improvements. We question whether permanent residential development is the right way to deliver them.
We do not claim that the dock is being sold, that the scheme has planning approval or that environmental harm has already been proved. We ask for evidence, alternatives and public accountability.
Independent and unaffiliated
We are not affiliated with Royal Docks Waterways, the Greater London Authority, Newham Council or the Royal Docks Team.
Official proposal material belongs to its respective organisations. Linking to a source or using a licensed photograph does not imply that its author or publisher endorses this campaign.
Corrections and contributions
If a source changes or a statement needs correcting, we want to put that right. Our contact page will show the campaign’s address once it is set up. Until then, campaign news and source changes will be published on this website.
